Today is a good day for beauty product reviews! First the “Must Have” ghd IV styler and now my current favorite lip gloss: Sue Devitt Lip Gloss in Bermuda Triangle. This stuff is fantastic!
Here’s the Deal: Sue Devitt Gloss is a luxurious formulation that gives your lips a fuller look by smooth out the appearance of fine lines and includes Peptides to promote collagen production. It gives your lips a high-watt shine and a sheer wash of color for a healthy, hydrated look.
My Take: Everything is just right about this gloss. The little brush applicator is perfect, the cool minty tingle when you apply is addictive, and the mega-shine is gorgeous. I was afraid the color was going to be too frosty and sparkly when I looked at the tube, but in reality it’s a subtle milky pink. Very pale, though, almost like a clear gloss but with a touch of sheer color. There is something magical about this stuff, I swear. My lips just look awesome when I put it on; I’m totally addicted! It’s super shiny, glossy and gorgeous. I can’t get enough. Sue Devitt Lip Gloss also comes in Coral Sea, Telina and Trinity Beach. This stuff isn’t cheap, but it’s really nice quality and the tubes are not small. Plus, I am continually amazed by how much drugstore glosses are going for these day. I will definitely be re-purchasing this gloss when my sample runs out! Price: $22.00
And just in time for Spring, check out my review of Sue Devitt Gold Coast Bronzing Powder!

I’m so excited to write my review of the ghd IV styler 1” because you guys can have one too! Just enter my giveaway that’s currently running on Hair on the Brain and win your very own ghd, worth $240.00. This styler is top of the line; endorsed by best hairstylists in the world; and used by celebs like Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Hudson, and Cate Blanchett.
Here’s the Deal: ghd’s unique ceramic technology heats up to its maximum temperature in seconds, locks in moisture, natural oils and hair color for total hair protection. It creates the straightest, sleekest locks, as well as fantastic curls and waves. The aluminum plates have a ceramic coating which helps to close the cuticle and create shine while locking in hair’s natural moisture and preventing moisture from re-entering the hair. The ghd IV styler emits infrared heat producing negative ions, which are less damaging to the hair. They reduce static and creating shine by closing the cuticle. Other stylers use PTC or copper wound elements which can dry out the hair.
My Take: I’ve tried many flat irons over the years, and the ghd knocks me out! It’s amazing and truly lives up to all the hype. It heats up in seconds (in fact, it’s faster than any other iron on the market!) and straightens hair immediately. I literally ran the iron over my hair once and it was straight. And best of all, it left my hair bouncy and shiny! The ghd creates truly healthy and shiny looking hair, unlike any other iron I have tried. It glides along your hair with no snagging, which has been a major issue for me with other high-end irons, like the Chi. With less snagging, I feel like there is less damage on my hair.
Plus, this little wonder styler does it all. It easily straightens, curls and creates waves. Once you get the hang of the curling technique, it’s simple. (Directions follow.) And the curls come out better than with using a traditional curling iron. I know not everyone can win the giveaway. And the ghd styler is pricey, but for those of you who straighten your hair every day, it’s an investment! Check out the other reviews online before you buy. (But they are equally glowing!)

If anyone asks me for skincare line recommendation, I always say Jan Marini. I use other products from other lines, but at any given time I’m always using a bunch of Jan Marini stuff. The Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser, Jan Marini C-Esta Cleansing Gel & Bioglycolic Resurfacing Body Scrub, and Age Intervention Regeneration Mask (Love this & use it every week!) And right now I am sooo stuck on Jan Marini Bioglycolic Bioclear Lotion.
I’ve already reviewed Bioclear, so I won’t go into too much detail, but for some reason back then I used it for a while and then started using other things. But recently my skin started acting up–just more clogged pores and a generally flaky apparence. So I pulled out my bottle of Bioclear Lotion and started using it, sparingly, at night. My skin looks so much better! It has Glycolic and Salicylic Acid in it, so I think it’s exfoliating off all of the dead skin and leaving my skin more refreshed and resurfaced. My cloged pores are much better. I’m really loving this, so I just wanted to give it another shout out. Especially for those who are past the teenage breakout stage, but still deal with occasional flare ups and those who have frustratingly combination skin, like mine. Also, I am super sensitive to a lot of products, but Jan Marini works for me.
Something super high-tech for all you Jan Marini lovers who are thinking about aging skin: Age Intervention Regeneration Booster. Sounds serious. Is serious!

I’ve had my eye on this relatively new line of haircare products, HerCut, for a while. Mainly because the packaging is so cute. I love the little drawings of each girl with her corresponding haircut: Long Layers, The Pixie, The Blunt Cut, The Bob, The Shag. Adorbs! (Check out each illustration at the end of the post; which cut are you? I’m Long Layers.)
HerCut is the first-ever hair care collection tailored to your haircut–not your hair type. HerCut believes it doesn’t take an expert to maintain straight-from-the-salon style, just the right products to support your cut. HerCut Catalysts address the five major categories of haircut–bob, pixie, shag, blunt cut and long layers–and customizes a Catalyst to meet the specific needs of every cut.
Since I just got my hair cut, this was a perfect time to try out this line. I tested HerCut Long Layers Catalyst. It’s a heat-activated styling cream/gel that’s specially formulated for a long layered cut. It has a dual dispenser that delivers cream and clear styling product, although the first time I used this product, only the clear product came out. I put my finger over the clear product dispenser in order to get the heavier cream to come out and that worked.
I really liked this product. It’s free of bad for you and your hair chemicals, like parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs and triclosan. (Can I just say, I love that more hair lines are creating products free of these chemicals?) My hair wasn’t weighed down at all; it’s super lightweight, yet provides enough lift to give volume at the roots and provide movement to the layers. After I blew it out with a boar bristly brush, my hair looked incredibly shiny and felt super soft. And the blowout lasted well into the next day. LOVE THIS.
Check out my review of HerCut Normal-Dry Shampoo and Deep Conditioner after the break, plus illustrations and descriptions of all the HerCut Catalysts! Continue Reading…

I’ve been using various Vapour Organic Beauty products for a while now. When I review makeup, sometimes I stick with it afterward and sometimes I don’t. Vapour is one of those produc lines that I’ve truly fallen in love with. When I was in Chicago over the holidays, Vapour Elixir Lip Gloss was the only gloss I brought with me. I usually have a million glosses with me, but I packed light in the gloss department this time!
Vapour Elixir in Hush was the perfect choice; it’s super moisturizing and provides a gorgeous shine and milky pink color. I love this gloss so much. Like all Vapour products, it’s non-chemical, which is a nice added plus. I wear it alone or over a lipstick, like Vapour’s Siren Lipstick, which I have in Ravish. Both colors are shown above. Price: Siren Lipstick is $19.00 and Elixir Lip Gloss is $20.00.
Oscar Blandi Pronto Wet Instant Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner are my new holy grail ‘poo and conditioner! I have used Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Dry Shampoo Powder for ages now and am a big fan. I recently tried the Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray too.
The Pronto Wet Instant Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner is designed to work alternately with the Pronto Dry Shampoo as part of Oscar Blandi’s new Every Other Day regimen. You use Pronto Wet on the days you cleanse your hair with water and Pronto Dry when you don’t. Pronto Wet is specifically formulated for hair that’s not washed every day; it removes build-up and instantly boosts volume with clinically shown AquaFlex technology for thicker, fuller hair. Plus, it has that awesome lemon verbena fragrance that I love. My hair smells amazing after I wash with this stuff! I can’t stop sniffing. The products are sulfate and paraben free. They contain Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, which increases hair’s ability to retain moisture, imparts shine and gloss to damaged and dull hair. They also contain Grape Seed Oil and Olive Oil, which adds moisture, and Silk Amino Acids to repair and strengthen hair.
The first time I tried out the Pronto Wet Instant Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner, it was after a long day and a trip to the gym, so I just showered and did nothing to my hair. I didn’t put any product in it–just combed it out, towel dried it, and let it air dry. The weirdest thing happened; it looked AWESEOME. And the next day? Still awesome! It was wavy and shiny and healthy looking. And no second day greasiness at all! Pretty sweet
I love shampooing with Pronto Wet. Even though it’s sulfate-free, it lathers up like crazy, so it really feels like you’re getting your hair thouroughly cleansed, which is nice when you’re skipping a couple of days between washing. My hair felt soft and healthy after shampooing–not stripped–which is a major plus in my book. Price: 8.4 oz / $24.00 each

If you’re someone that struggles with sensitive skin–irritation, hives, rashes, eczema, you will understand how exciting it is to find products that don’t cause your skin to freak out! Osmotics Renovage Cellular Eye Repair is successfully blown my mind because it’s the ONE eye cream that I have been able to use in the last year that has not cause my under eye skin to flare up in a itchy, red mess. Plus, it provides serious age correction for crow’s feet, sun damage and mature skin. At first I was scared to even try it on my very wimpy eye area, for obvious reasons. It claims to correct and prevent aging around the eyes by repairing DNA and increasing cellular life span–I thought for sure it would make my skin act a fool, but it’s very rich, moisturizing and after over a month of use, I can happily say my under eye area is totally at peace. Yay!
I don’t really have serious age issues around my eyes yet, but a few fine lines. Le sigh. I don’t know if Osmotics Renovage Cellular Eye Repair is erasing those lines. I haven’t noticed a dramatic difference or anything, but I am so thankful that I have an eye cream that I can use, that I give this a huge A+. Price: .5 0z / $78.00
