I Want: Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo

Philip-B.-Russian-Amber-Imperial-Shampoo

I remember reading a glow, gushing review of Philip B Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo in Lucky magazine this past summer and thinking: I MUST try this stuff.

The Lucky reviewer says: “A true miracle! This shampoo makes my hair – which is wavy and long – perfectly wavy as if styled endlessly by a $700-an-hour stylist, then volumized and texturized as if worked on with numerous styling products (despite no stylist, no blow dryer, no styling products)… My friend – whose hair is straighter and shorter – gets body, volume, and shine. Yet another friend – whose long hair tends to frizz as a result of overprocessing – gets smooth sleekness without flatness… Whatever your wish for your hair, the shampoo grants the wish.”

Like, for realz? But then I read the price: 12 fl oz is $140.00! That’s, um, a little steep. Even though ever Philip B product I have ever tried, I have loved, I am not about to throw down that kind of cash on shampoo unless it’s also changing the oil on my car.

But here’s some good news: Philip B just release a generous 3 fl oz jar of Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo for just $50.00. A little better? At least it makes it a little more realistic to try out “the most luxurious shampoo ever formulated” that’s suppose to gives your hair back its youthful glory and glow in one dose. A concentrated, lipid-packed mix of pure grape seed oil, chamomile, rosemary, shea butter and panthenol (bitamin B5) smoothes and fills flaws in the hair cuticle for a super glossy finish. Of course, the ultraluxe formula is paraben-free and light enough for fine, limp hair.

I’m dying to know–have any of you guys tried Philip B Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo? And if so, does it live up to the hype? For more information on Philip B, check out my review of Maui Wowie Beach Mist.

I Want: Hot Rollers

blake-lively-hairstyle-curls

Can an old school set of hot rollers give you the much-coveted Blake Lively hair? The girls over at Glamour believe it’s the key to full, soft bouncy curls just like you see here on Blake.

I’ve never used hot rollers, but I’ve been curious about trying them for a while now. Some reports claim they’re faster and easier to use than a curling iron. I wonder if the curl would stay in my hair longer? My long, fine hair does not hold a curling iron curl very long.

To make the curls last, you shouldn’t wash your hair for a day or two before you curl it. If you want looser curls, take out the rollers when they’re cool to the touch, and if you want tighter ones, leave them in another couple of minutes and mist with hairspray before you unroll them.

I have a gift certificate at Sephora burning a hole in my pocket… Maybe I should get a set of hot rollers?

I Want: Dickweed

Bleach-Black-Dickweed

The girls from BleachBlack already have an ultra-successful jewelry line at Urban Outfitters and are now launching their own nail polish line. The first color is a hybrid of Japanese Beetle Green and Malachite Stones with a hint of Metallic Shine. Um, hello. Awesome. Annoyingly though, this is a pre-order item and is expected to ship after Christmas. (sadface.) Also, the polishes’ name? “Dickweed” Aw! I think I’m in love. This is the first of many shades to be available on Needsupply.com by the fashion blogging duo, Kristin and Valerie. “There’s too much blushy pink going on,” says Kristin of BleachBlack’s polish line. “Fashion has become way too serious. We are honestly just fucking around and have fun with this project.” Price: $12.95
